A relatively new sub-team of GaSP, our aim is to revolutionise the way in which our key corporate data is made available to data analysts across the University. We work in partnership with the Information Services Business Intelligence team to deliver and support an expanding range of strategic reporting datasets and reports via the University’s Enterprise Data Warehouse and business intelligence reporting tools.
By providing tailored, consistently defined, robustly governed datasets and removing much of the hard work which is usually involved in preparing data prior to analysis, we are making it quicker and easier for data analysts to get on with the job of generating the insight to inform key decisions.
Our team also provides programme and project management support for initiatives across the wider GaSP team, and fulfils a key role in the collective support service for the University’s Policy Repository and Policy Directory.
In a typical week you’ll find us:
- Working closely with our Information Services partners on the latest Enterprise Data Warehouse strategic reporting projects, helping with data modelling, data definitions and testing of new products, including acting as conduit to the data analysts who will use these.
- Providing advice and guidance to data analysts on use of the datasets we support, facilitating collaboration across teams on common reporting from these and discussing enhancements and their future implementation.
- Creating and maintaining a number of dashboard apps for senior leadership teams and wider staff groups and helping with the use of these.
- Providing day-to-day programme and project management support for GaSP initiatives and medium to longer term planning support for the GaSP BI team’s evolving remit.
- Helping University Policy Owners manage their policies within the Policy Repository storage space and helping staff, students and members of the public with use of the Policy Directory webpage on the University’s website.
