Terms of reference and membership for Academic Strategy Group. PurposeA confidential forum for the Principal, Provost, Heads of School and other relevant leaders to informally discuss and contribute to University-wide strategy, initiatives and issues.Any member can suggest an agenda item as long as it has University-wide relevance. Examples of items from recent discussions:Teaching and Learning, Student Experience, Research and REF, input to the Strategic Plan, the Survey Strategy, planning for learning and teaching and research under coronavirus restrictions.Historical note:Academic Strategy Group was set up in 2009 following the reorganisation of the Senate Committees that resulted in there no longer being a forum in which the Principal and all Heads of School could meet.MeetingsThe group meets at least four times a year.CompositionAcademic Strategy Group meetings comprise the Heads of Schools, and those responsible for the management and leadership of the University and delivering its major strategies.MembersPrincipal ProvostHeads of SchoolHead of the Office of Open LearningIn attendance (attending if topics of interest)Vice-Principals, including Heads of CollegeDirector of FinanceKey University professional services and academic leadersOther members of staff will be invited to attend as required.
