The University’s Framework for Information Governance provides a holistic view of the University’s approach to information governance. It was approved by University Executive in January 2025.

The Framework pulls together and describes the:
- overarching governance and management arrangements the University has in place to ensure the Framework is effective and fit for purpose;
- key policies and standards which ensure the University fulfils its legal obligations;
- individual, but inter-related and inter-connected, activities and services which support the information lifecycle;
- underpinning training that is available to staff to ensure they are aware of and understand their responsibilities when requesting, receiving,
- creating, using, storing and disposing of University information; and
- underpinning, and cross-cutting arrangements in place to report and manage information-related risks.
These arrangements are described in more detail in the Framework and depicted in the figure below.
