The University’s Framework for Information Governance provides a holistic view of the University’s approach to information governance.  It was approved by University Executive in January 2025, with minor edits approved by the Information Governance Group in February 2026.

The Framework pulls together and describes the:

  • overarching governance and management arrangements the University has in place to ensure the Framework is effective and fit for purpose;
  • key policies and standards which ensure the University fulfils its legal obligations;
  • individual, but inter-related and inter-connected, activities and services which support the information lifecycle;
  • underpinning training that is available to staff to ensure they are aware of and understand their responsibilities when requesting, receiving,
  • creating, using, storing and disposing of University information; and
  • underpinning, and cross-cutting arrangements in place to report and manage information-related risks. 

These arrangements are described in more detail in the Framework and depicted in the figure below.
