In 2014, the School of Design at Edinburgh College of Art launched an international teaching and research partnership with the Shanghai International College of Fashion and Innovation, Donghua University. The partnership delivers two ‘2+2’ undergraduate programmes: Fashion Innovation and Fashion Interior Design. Students at Donghua University begin their studies in Shanghai and may be selected to study at Edinburgh College of Art for the final two years of their programme. This partnership offers a unique international experience for Donghua students, which in turn enriches the multicultural environment for our students. As part of this initiative, the University of Edinburgh has ‘flying academics’ who provide teaching to students in Shanghai for short periods.
